Two Months in…

It’s hard to believe that it’s been two months since I published my first adult novel, Love, Lies and Butterflies! What an incredible journey it has been!

As I gear up for my Christmas marketing campaign, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on this experience.

Overall, the launch has exceeded my expectations, and I owe a huge thank you to everyone who supported me along the way. With careful planning and preparation, my book soared up the Amazon rankings! Thanks to the fabulous Book Dragon Team, it’s now available at all major bookstores in both e-book and paperback formats. (Exciting news: the audiobook will be out on Apple Books later this month!)

Now comes the hard part—consistently promoting my work to attract new readers. As a first-time author in a crowded market filled with celebrity names, I know how important it is to stand out, especially during this festive season. I truly believe my book makes an excellent stocking filler, but capturing attention amid the competition is definitely a challenge.

One of my biggest takeaways has been the importance of asking for reviews. I realise now that being a bit bolder in reaching out for feedback would have been beneficial, as reviews—especially on Amazon—can really make a difference!

Thank you all for being part of this journey with me, and here’s to an exciting holiday season ahead!

Even when you're passionate about your work, it's essential to take a break and recharge! This past week, I had an amazing half-term filled with laughter and adventures alongside friends and family. It was the perfect opportunity to unwind and refresh.

I absolutely love my garden throughout the year, but there’s just something magical about autumn! Seeing my tangerine tree bursting with beautiful, vibrant orange fruit feels like an added treat. A final flourish before it needs fleecing up for winter.

Another love of mine is being in the great outdoors, and this week has been filled with leafy walks and alfresco coffee - with my two buddies my grandson Harry and Rizzo my cocker spaniel…

What a fantastic way to round off the week! With the wonderful assistance of my friend Karen, we hosted an unforgettable Halloween Hullabaloo at the Book Nook in Aldingbourne Country Centre. I had the joy of sharing my special Halloween story, which I wrote just for this occasion, with many lovely families! A massive thank you to everyone who attended and made the day special, as well as to those who picked up my books. Your support means the world to me! Here’s to a fabulous day filled with fun and creativity! 🎃📚✨
