An Inspiring start to 2026

With Christmas now a distant memory, I have decided to share, each month on my blog, a different process that is part of the journey to sell more books and become a successful author.

It's January, and I'm excited to dive into business planning for 2026! I'm eager to explore my goals and aspirations for my books this year and discover the steps to bring them to life. Let's make it happen!

My writing journey is a thrilling adventure, and my plans are continuously evolving! While my creative process flows freely, promoting my work is an essential foundation that I’m committed to solidifying. It’s vital to ensure that people learn about my book, and during my time in this vibrant writing community, I've discovered that a successful marketing strategy combines the power of social media, inspiration from author support groups, and engaging face-to-face events.

I absolutely love attending in-person events! Connecting with readers, sharing my story on an emotional level, and witnessing their reactions is an incredibly fulfilling experience. However, I recognise that face-to-face interactions alone can't take my writing business to the heights I aspire to.

That’s where social media comes into play! I enjoy using platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok to share promotional content, and they’ve been effective for me so far. Yet, in the ever-evolving digital landscape, I need to keep feeding this machine with fresh content. I believe in nurturing that emotional connection I value so much in person, but it requires time, structure, and unwavering dedication.

When I first embarked on my writing journey, I didn’t even have a Facebook account—it’s been quite a transformative path! I’ve embraced new tools, like Adobe, which have helped elevate my posts to a professional level. While promoting my work is indeed a job, it’s one that I wholeheartedly embrace, and I’m excited to see the positive results it brings.

There’s an incredible array of groups and resources out there to support authors, each with its unique strengths. Personally, I’ve found that partnering with one comprehensive business has been the most beneficial for me, both practically and financially. I'm proud to be a member of Book Dragon, which has been with me since the very beginning of my publishing journey. They are now an integral part of my business and future plans!

As I look ahead, I’m enthusiastic about my marketing commitments for January! I plan to post on social media at least three times a week and seek out local book club events where I can participate as a guest author.

I’m excited to share my journey and connect with fellow authors, both aspiring and established, and with book lovers and readers in new and meaningful ways!
